Here me out. 2 Theo Thiam centric fic

Theo centric fic 6a/post 6a

The wild hint is defeated but when Liam and everyone else was escaping the hunt. Something goes wrong, Liam is stuck behind in the hunt, everyone else forgets him all but theo for some reason. Theos sees and hears Liam everywhere he goes, the pack don't believe him when he tries to tell them. Telling him they are not gonna fall for his lies again and once they find the sword he's going back, the sword is with Liam, the person they can't remember, in the wild hunt. Theo will go to any lengths to get Liam out wether the pack trusts him or not unable to bear hearing Liams screams of agony or his pleas for help plus seeing him everywhere. He doesn't know why he has to save the beta he just has to.

2nd idea

The wild hunt is over but for some reason the pack has forgotten Theo, what he did, who he was. It's basically a chance for Theo to start over consequences free. He's is always worried though something will happen to restore the packs memory and ruin his second chance, will he tell the pack himself or will he hope they never find out. He does feel guilty though like he is lieing all the time which he is, he knows he doesn't deserve this, but Theo is selfish and he will take what he can get. He's there for Liam when he and Hayden break up, he uses his knowledge of what he learnt with the DDs to help the pack and so much more.

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying followed their string to meet during the Cloud Recesses lectures, but Wei Ying cut it during the golden core transfer (or maybe the transfer... withered it? blackened it? I can’t remember). The fic then picks up when Wei Ying is brought back to life and the red thread forms between them again, allowing Lan Zhan to find Wei Ying again. 6. Hello lovely mods, I think I'm losing my mind. I saw two wangxian fics on ao3 recently that I planned to come back to but then couldn't find again with (various permutations of) the same tags. Did I dream them? Halp!

A) First fic: it was a modern au, something about fashionista LWJ, and WWX in a dress or feminized in some way. I think it was a PWP where it starts with them going out to dinner but may be mistaken on that point.

B) Second fic: time travel fix it but it's jin guangyao traveling back. There's something about how he'll do anything to make lan xichen smile, and that's how wwx becomes his problem. In the notes it mentions how jin guangyao remains as morally grey as ever, or something like that.

Do these stories exist outside of my head??!

He's betrothed to Lan Zhan, adopted by the Lan Clan and at a point adopt baby Yuan. The scene that i remember is when Madam Yu visits Guzu and sees Wei Wuxian (with A-Yuan in his arms) and she uses Zadian at him. Huaisang, who was there, protect Wei Wuxian and is hurt by the whip. For Fic Finder please: I am looking for a fic (possibly two) where Wei Wuxian played GusuLan music during the Phoenix Mountain hunt, which other disciples recognized and they all clamored "why do you know Gusu folk music?" I think I might be confusing two fics though, and if either or both could be found that would be great! In my first thought WWX used Lan musical cultivation songs to help on the hunt (maybe to calm down crazed disciples?) and the Lan disciples got angry that an outsider knew Lan sect secret music. The other thought is that it was when WWX was blindfolded and resting in the tree he played Lan folk music, and I think a commotion was caused by disciples thinking he was trying to seduce Jiang Yanli but Madame Jin defends him saying she recognized the songs and that they were harmless. So WangXian are arranged married, I'm very sertain it's canon divergent and the war doesn't/hasn't happened yet. WWX tries very much to become a productive member of the Lan clan, but his efforts are unappreciated, and the only thing he's allowed to help with is some basic talisman that any junior can do. He can't leave because he doesn't want to shame the Jiangs and also doesn't have any money because Madame Yu negotiated his marriage contract to put him at a disadvantage. LWJ doesn't yet know how to defend WWX and doesn't go against his family, but he eventually realizes that he hasn't been a good husband and cries about it to LXC because he doesn't know what to do. In the end, WWX secretly tries to destroy Lan Yi's Yin metal and wad willing to sacrifice himself because it's the only thing he believes he is useful for, LWJ stops him and it ends about there.

But then he was invited to the Nie sect by Nie Huaisang and he actually meets Lan Zhan who is alive and he still thinks that he is dreaming and breaks down in front of Lan Zhan, Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue and Lan Zhan looks at his brother with betrayed eyes because Lan Xichen hid the fact that Lan Zhan is alive from Wei Ying deliberately. on fire: a teen wolf novel chapters 1-3

on fire was published on july 17, 2012. the day after raving had aired during the show's second season.

it was written by nancy holder who has written many, many tie-in books for multiple franchises but most notably she wrote novels for the buffyverse.

by tapping nancy holder to write the novel confirms to me that mtv was trying to do what teen wolf's spiritual predecessors did and create tie-in novels with the show and on fire was testing the waters for that.

it did not succeed because teen wolf doesn't have the kind of space for that. the timeline is too tight. teen wolf was part of the new netflix binge era. it had a seasons of 12 episodes that were wall-to-wall plot. there weren't silly filler episodes and they didn't do monster of the week plots.

on fire assumes that you have seen episodes 1-5 of the show but it is also an AU of season 1 post-the tell.

i get the vibe that the author was given notes, some information or like an outline that she used to build a plot so it's interesting to see what tid-bits holder uses and refers to that still gel with canon or is consistent with what we know.

this isn't a novelization of season 1 that's for sure but, hey, i took notes.

i'm going to break the novel up into 3 chapter chunks.

so without further ado let's get into it. on fire: a teen wolf novel or as i've been thinkin of it as.

the novel starts right at the very end of the tell after the parent teacher conferences. 

the way it's described when argent shoots the mountain lion brings to mind the scene in to kill a mockingbird when atticus shoots the rabid dog. chris argent is no atticus finch but he sure does learn to walk a mile in someone else's shoes doesn't he?

i somehow always manage to forget that the tell is the episode where allison turns 17. she doesn’t live to see her 18th birthday. shot through the heart man. 

oh my fucking god scott. the way this is written i imagine holder is trying to invoke derek and kate as if there’s some wild age gap between him and allison when they're like 9 months apart in age. allison is not kate jesus chris. look at this shit:

“scott hadn’t known allison was seventeen, a year older than the other kids in their class -- older than him -- and didn’t want anyone to know.”

Fuck Rafael McCall. Meet me outside and catch these hands.

“he knew his dad wasn’t keeping up with child support payments. not that his mom had ever mentioned it.”

this is where the transition into heart monitor would be. it is a pretty terrifying dream scott has. peter’s such a dramatic bitch. scott’s dreaming of being in the woods with everything on fire and then he’s being compelled by peter to come kill with him. which just reinforces my whole thing about peter and scott being psychically connected. we don’t see this with any other alpha-beta connection to this degree. derek senses victoria killing scott in raving but we really do not get this in the show very much as it seems to be a Dark Sided power. but we do see peter use it again in season 6a with the whole “you were my beta first” scene. 

scott mentions stiles’s having ADHD so to me that means that nancy holder was definitely working with the idea that stiles does have it. stiles having ADHD seems like a plot thread that got dropped really quickly by the show but remained in dylan’s acting choices and in fandom’s mind.

scott is the only beta we see experience sleepwalking episodes. it seems tied to the compulsion and mental link he shares with feral alpha peter.

the entire paragraph is something. firstly, it wasn't until night school, the episode after this one, that peter tried to push scott into killing his “pack”. but lol melissa called stiles scott’s “litter mate” and stiles wearing his target shirt that he wore in wolf moon and the one that subtextually could reference the nemeton and eventually scott's pack symbol. i don't believe we ever actually saw that shirt again. the tragedy.

“stiles had on his bullseye t-shirt, and it kind of freaked scott out when he wore it. as if it meant that stiles were a target. They both knew the Alpha wanted Scott to kill him to cement Scott’s acceptance that he was a member of the Alpha’s pack. Who better to take down than the guy Scott’s mom had once referred to as his “litter mate”?”

this is where it's starting to get kind of weird because the plot of this book takes place during season 1 but it’s not strictly following the plot. it feels like an alternate season 1.

jackson has gone missing. when is he not missing is the more appropriate question? 

so chapter 2 starts with scott and stiles joining lydia and allison at The Popular Kids Table to discuss jackson being missing. this wouldn’t have happened in season 1. this dynamic didn’t exist until at minimum season 3. lydia didn’t even acknowledge stiles’s existence until the winter formal at the end of the season. 

jackson’s parents apparently went to paris right after the parent-teacher conference, leaving their high school age child alone for an extended period of time in the middle of the school year? what? no wonder jackson’s fucked up. why didn’t they just go around christmas and instead they waited another three weeks or some shit. that is weird.

jackson’s been left a note from a supposed private investigator about his birth parents while his parents are out of town, which is totally not sus at all. 🙄🙄 lydia's concerned about him looking stupid so she won’t go to the sheriff and she doesn’t even approach jackson’s best friend danny. like, danny would know a lot more about jackson than scott or stiles would. lydia, i know allison is the one who involved scott but for fuck’s sake. 

look even a page later lydia says “he and jackson barely know each other.” then why are you involving scott in what you seem to believe is a personal matter? 

do people just generally know jackson was adopted? i can see lydia knowing but scott and stiles? allison just fucking moved there so she doesn’t know anything about anyone. this is quite the personal piece of information i doubt he’d want others to know lydia. 

this is such an AU because after the parent-teacher conference stiles was giving scott the cold shoulder due to his dad being hurt. 

also stiles is supposedly sitting at this table the entire time lydia, allison and scott are talking and has not given his opinion on the matter yet. very unlike him. if there's one thing stiles has it's opinions on jackson and his father's job. stiles would be all over this.

this fucking line is brutal man -- “stiles was the only person on the planet who knew he had become a werewolf. well, derek knew, too, but derek hardly counted as a person.” that said, i do think it’s accurate to scott’s headspace at this point regarding derek. avoiding seeing derek as a person is a way of detaching himself from the situation he’s found himself in. 

alright so we’ve got a POV change to allison --a nd it’s all about how cute acott is. allison I love you but chill please. 

okay so this is interesting. “her mom had been angry, too. allison could tell that if had been left up to her, she wouldn’t have been so harsh about having to stay all weekend. her mom liked scott.” are we sure we’re talking about the same victoria argent? granted this is pre-werewolf reveal so as far as victoria knows allison is just mooning over a nice normal human boy but i have a hard time imagining this being the same victoria who gave us the crazy eyes and the sharpening your dick metaphor.

this still haunts me.

"except i won’t get to spend time with scott except at school until i’m, oh, 112.” oh right in the feels

this book really assumes you’ve seen episodes 1-5 of the first season. allison’s mentioning aunt kate and the necklace in a way that makes the assumption the reader knows who and what they are. 

jackson’s password for his tracking app is “captain”. that is worse than the password being lydia or like scott famously having allison as his password. y’all suck and have shitty computer security.

these kids are sophomores in high school and lydia and allison are really having a discussion about jackson going to a pay by the hour motel as if that’s a thing 15-16 year olds do in the california subburbs on a regular basis. as if jackson would lower himself in such a way to begin with. he’s snobby as fuck. it’s such a weird conversation.

i am page 20 and i feel like so far this author hasn’t been very nice to stiles. not having him say a word in the lunch conversation about jackson despite not only being very opinionated about jackson whittermore’s general existence he’d also have thoughts on a missing person. like, he didn’t even speak when his dad was brought up as a possible avenue of help which is odd. then about a page later there’s this sort of tone used around stiles that feels condescending about him being hyperactive.

this paragraph is, uh, something that could’ve only been written in 2012 because it feels gross:

“lydia shrugged. then she turned to allison. “tell you what. if the boys are willing to the motel for us ---” “to a motel. to look for a guy,” stiles said. ”maybe you should ask danny?” danny, their lacrosse team goalie, was gay, out and proud. “he could act, you know, more casual about it.”

that said, it does track with stiles being overly occupied with the perception of his sexuality and that danny does shit he’s way too young to be doing which is written around his sexuality. remember the whole older boyfriend and going to the jungle thing is season 2? 

it has been like 23 pages and allison’s got this subplot where she wants to have sex with scott. like girlie you’ve known scott for 2 days, keep your pants on. (it keeps coming up with scott too and it's annoying, okay).

it took stiles barely a paragraph to mention derek hale when the point of view switched to him. sir. 

i’m laughing at how derek’s point of view is paired with stiles in the way that scott and allison’s are. even in the non-canon book the Sterek Agenda is there. 

“a prankster with a wicked sense of humor.” is what derek refers to peter as before the fire. is that what we are calling it derek because i would disagree.

“i dreamed of other alphas coming after me. why? it’s not a crime to kill an alpha. i’m a werewolf. the way we progress in status is through challenge.” now this is an interesting perspective. werewolves progress via challenges. that's still sort of in-line with what we see in canon.

allison and scott are driving into the seedier side of town. AKA what seems to be where the poors live. scott describes seeing boarded up buildings, pawn shops and “some kind of clinic where you could sell your blood.” which I assume is a plasma center where people donate and get paid in return and this little classist shit says “remind me to never get a blood transfusion.” god he’s such a 16 year old..

6. Which of your fics is the most serious?

It is so funny that the first one that came is the fic I mentioned earlier which The Craving That Paints Your Lips Red.

Another one that comes to mind is, funny enough, another fic with 'red' in the title which is Not Red, Black. The first one is a JJK fic and this one is a MHA.

Actually, the funny thing about NRB is that it's a part of an AU in which I thought it was funny is I wrote Miruko as AFO's granddaughter just because. But after the first fic (NRB is the second fic), it dabbled more into serious tones somehow.

a. What is something you wish more people noticed about it?

I wish overall it was a more noticed fic, but I'm fine with it being like "a hidden gem". I kind of surprised myself writing it.

It's probably one of the fics I love most when it comes to visuals.

If I had to choose something I hoped to be noticed if one does read the fic is a different side to Miruko. I took her usual "bloodthirsty" side from canon and made it something she questions her, make her feel vulnerable and confused.

Actually thinking about it, TCTPYLR has a similar premise! Yuji in that fic has a craving that Sukuna tries to influence him but Yuji fights it off.

katherine hiiiiiiii 🥺 ive been doing ok!! i love my pediatrics rotation even if this particular stretch has had insane hours and im looking forward to going home for a few days for thanksgiving to see my dog. and in my head, they've sort of always been combined, i guess because like. the jesse who lives in my head and my posts is just always epileptic even when its not pertinent to the narrative. but in terms of au squared explicitly, his epilepsy is weaponized a bit by his parents when they're making their bid to obtain custody of baby. not exactly in a malicious way and not to the extent that his addiction history is, but sort of as another point against him (he isnt even responsible enough to manage his own condition half the time, what if his negligence with himself causes harm to baby??, etc.) jesse himself initially doesnt really think about it because during the first few months of baby's life, he's getting a lot of help from his parents (especially when his house is um. Uhh. in season 1) and rarely experiences symptoms at the same time he's with baby until one afternoon when he's standing up to bottle feed her and it suddenly hits him like a fucking freight train, so abrupt and violent that he has to sit down. he seized last night from standing, which is to be expected when hes bad about taking his meds, but what if he had been holding baby then?? what if he had dropped her?? maybe he's a little more sensitive and paranoid about stuff since domingo and emilio and the whole tuco thing, but the idea feels so horrifically real that it makes him sick. this realization happens in conjunction with the events of "down" and it marks a huge turning point in how jesse views his responsibility as a parent. not just in terms of protecting baby and refusing to let his parents lay claim to her, but also in terms of managing his epilepsy. he may not care that much about his wellbeing and whether he's ok or medicated or healthy or whatever, but he Cares about baby and she is relying on him to be ok. if he gets hurt, she goes with him. and from that point on, at least in the au squared universe, he would be a lot more diligent with keeping up with his condition the best he can given the Circumstances.

and i watched brba for the first time in summer 2018 which was actually kind of a Very Bad Time for me personally, but getting invested in brba and all the genuinely exhilarating action was a lifeboat. at the time, i wasnt like current syd levels interested in it, but it was definitely my favorite tv show and i bought a brba poster for my dorm room and of course ran across campus to get home and watch "el camino" that fateful friday it was released. it wasnt until i started bcs in summer 2022 that the special interest aspect of it truly soaked in for me, i think because i was just at a very different point in my life. i knew i was going to med school at that point, which was the world's biggest burden lifted off my shoulders, and i felt relaxed enough to truly indulge in every understated detail of bcs. finishing bcs up to season 6A of course led to me rewatching brba for the first time and that sealed the deal of like "oh my god this is incredible. this world is so expansive and detailed and tragic" :') so it did take a while but Boy Howdy—

Super flexible with verses and situations to throw Rory & The Master in! His(and thereby the Master’s) five main-ish verses are—

Default- exactly what you imagine. Fobwatched!Rory comes up the same way in the show— he dates and marries Amy, they travel with the Doctor.

Rory A Little To The Left- a catch-all verse for… A lot of other stuff. Do you want your character to generally be in Amy’s place? Does Rory have a friend who he confides in about his time traveling and the weird watch dreams he has because of it? Rory as the Master’s companion, somehow? Anything else A Little or A Lot To The Left?

The Boy Who Waited- Pretty much what it says on the tin. Rory’s exactly in Amy’s place. A fun barely-used exploration in throwing the Doctor into Rory Williams’ backyard instead of Amy and the results of that.

The Girl Who Didn’t Have To Wait- Oops! Oopsie! Rory opens the watch incredibly early! Amy Pond(or your character) gets offered to be the Master’s companion.

Rory’s Back- Oops! Something else went wrong! The Master’s the Master again, but Rory Williams… Comes through sometimes? They share a body? Rory is essentially condemned to a personal hell?

The Master… Well. Missy— the Master- never intended to be anything more than a simple human for a handful of decades. It almost felt like vacation, but instead it came across more as insurance that they wouldn’t… Run into… Any versions of themselves. Or more importantly: the Doctor.

Alright, failed step one.Just went a bit backwards.

It all happened rather fast in hindsight. A last-minute decision to go under the chameleon arch, just before Missy was regenerating. The change was supposed to happen post-regeneration, in a new body, a new Master. It happened, instead, mid-regeneration. It produced a child. No name, no backstory, no plan.

The night Amelia Pond settles into a house with a crack in the bedroom wall in Leadworth, a TARDIS crashes in Brian and Mallory Williams’ backyard a few streets over. A little girl comes wandering into their kitchen from the backyard. And suddenly both of them remember that they were supposed to be renovating their daughter’s bedroom (that strangely looks like a home office at the time), and put Mallory(it means unlucky, ha.) Rory Williams to sleep on the couch. 

The Master, meanwhile, sits inside of an old and tarnished up wrist watch. What was supposed to be a 90-odd-year excursion maximum accidentally turned into a 1000+ year technicality due to the Doctor, of all people.

Default is that he releases from the watch sometime before Angels Take Manhattan. The longer they stay in the TARDIS, the worse Rory gets, the more things start to stick out in the end… 

Darvill!Master weasels his way out eventually, usually after Rory’s attention is turned to the wrist watch that’s conveniently come with him throughout weddings and moves and the Pandorica and all of his deaths and the TARDIS and—

When he comes out(ha.) there’s a lot of mixed feelings. Nothing has been processed fully from Missy, he’s suffering from a strange millennia-old regeneration hangover that hung on in the watch, the Master was human for entirely too long. Rory was around for entirely too long and managed to get his life wrapped up in one of the two people in the universe he was hiding out from.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The other like 350+ fics of mine have happy endings. I am a happy ending slut. But my fluffiest, happiest fic has to be What's Easy is Right which is all fluff, no angst buddie.

all time favourite ship? This is an impossible question. And I refuse to believe that any writer can actually answer it.

what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have a 6a Sterek rewrite that's constantly swirling around my mind. I also have a steddie fic where they meet via Dustin making them both have radios and they only communicate through that without knowing who the other is.

what are your writing strengths? I feel like I'm really good at characterization. I try really hard to keep my characters as close to canon as possible even in AU situations.

what are your writing weaknesses? Doing. It? No, seriously, I have a hard time just putting the worlds onto paper or like, writing a rough draft. Everything has to be perfect on the first try so that often leads to not writing at all.

thoughts on dialogue in another language? I don't speak another language, so I try to keep dialogue in other languages to what has been heard in canon and/or like a word or two.

It's hard to put into words tbh because there's no hard and fast rule for me. If a piece of media is really bad, I won't want to write for it—same for if it's really good. It's like that one post about how if a piece of media hits the sweet spot of not too terrible and not too great, that'll spark fanfic inspiration (usually this happens for me if a show at least starts off strong, because by the time it gets bad, I've gotten attached to at least a few characters and ships (platonic and/or romantic…usually the former first and the latter later))

Even then, I'll almost always only write for the seasons I at least somewhat like or see potential in—which, for the Flash, is seasons 1-6a*, and seasons 1-3 for Cobra Kai (tho I admittedly don't write much for the latter except for my super indulgent time travel AU). For Star Wars, it's all the films (the sequels had so much potential...*sighs* TFA may have been nearly a copy of ANH, but at least it was setting up interesting plot threads)

*exception: I detest the Flash seasons 6b-9—they have a few good moments but are overall pretty bad (and treat Iris horribly, which is really what solidifies my hate for them). However, I did end up writing a small fix-it for the s9 finale 😅

Ooh and ofc OC potential is a great motivator for me to create for a fandom too! Just look at how many of my fics are OC-centered 😂
